Join the Charlotte Park and Wildlife Refuge Oversight Committee, Audubon Vermont and the Lewis Creek Association on May 17th to explore the Birds and Biodiversity of the Park. Mark LaBarr from Audubon Vermont will be banding birds from 8:00 till 10:00 AM and discussing recent habitat management at the Park for Golden-winged Warblers and other shrubland birds. Ali Wagner of Green Mountain Audubon Society will lead a bird walk to the banding station then around the park - this will start earlier (7:00 AM) than the banding begins. We will discuss the many projects the Oversight Committee has undertaken to enhance the biodiversity of the park from pollinator plantings to riparian habitat management to water quality improvements by LCA's Ahead of the Storm project. For those NOT joining the early bird walk, park at the CPWR parking lot on Greenbush Road, just south of the railroad overpass by around 8:00 AM, and walk up Robert's Way trail to where the bird banding station is (after the second bridge - see this map if needed). Please carpool if you can!
The event is free but space is limited for Ali Wagner's bird walk and registration is required. Please register at this link - you will receive information about timing and where to meet after signing up.
