Lewis Creek Association (LCA) and the United Church of Hinesburg have partnered to plan for improvements in water quality in the area behind the United Church. That area was historically a wetland associated with the LaPlatte River floodplain, that had been filled in and drained.

LCA and landowners have partnered to plan for improvements to water quality and reduced flooding risk in the Hollow Brook area near Lazy Brook Mobile Home Park on Hollow Road in Starksboro.

Among the Great Egrets and Northern Map Turtles in Charlotte’s Town Farm Bay and Shelburne’s LaPlatte River wetlands, volunteers removed non-native aquatic invasive European frogbit for the fifteenth consecutive year this summer. Lewis Creek Association’s (LCA) “Water Quality Stewardship Program” is an invasive plant and water quality project coordinated annually since 2007.
