Mt. Philo Bird Walk with Liz Lee

  • Mt. Philo State Park 5425 Mt Philo Rd Charlotte, VT USA (map)

Late April is the beginning of peak spring bird migration. This is when breeding birds return from their wintering ground in Central and South America and the Caribbean to breed in northern latitudes. Mount Philo offers a unique place to bird at this time of year. Because it rises 900' above the Champlain Valley, migrating birds land here as a resting spot on their journey. We will walk the road to the summit. Please bring binoculars, any food and water you will need for our time on the mountain, sturdy shoes and curiosity. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please register as space is limited to 10 participants.

An Charlotte Earth Month event co-sponsored by the Lewis Creek Association and the Charlotte Library.

Registration required to attend.
