Chartered in 1763, the Town of Shelburne is situated on the shores of Lake Champlain in southwestern Chittenden County.
Shelburne is home to a variety of businesses, including several cafes and a general store. Three of Vermont's most popular tourist attractions are located in Shelburne: the Shelburne Museum, Shelburne Farms and the Vermont Teddy Bear Company.
Shelburne Pond, the LaPlatte River Marsh Natural area, and the town beach are popular recreation and natural areas. The current population of Shelburne is 6,266.
